Srinagar, Nov 20 (KNO): The district administration in Baramulla has prioritized the welfare of students and the public by rolling out comprehensive winter preparedness plans.
Speaking with the reporters, Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), revealed that all 1,300 plus government schools and 600 private schools in the district have been equipped with winter-specific arrangements.
Higher secondary schools, in particular, have been provided with heating devices to ensure an optimal learning atmosphere during the cold months, he said.
Sherpa said that, apart from educational infrastructure, the district administration is taking proactive steps to address potential winter challenges.
“We are prepared for snowfall, with the Mechanical Engineering Department ready to clear roads promptly,” Sherpa said, adding that essential commodities like rice and sugar have been stocked to last through April.
“We are ready to tackle any snowfall challenges,” he said.
The DC while speaking over power supply, a key concern during winters said that the Power Development Department has assured uninterrupted electricity even in severe weather conditions.
Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Baramulla, Shabir Ahmed Khan also said that, there's no need to worry about the winter chill, as they have made adequate arrangements in place in their schools across the district.
On a query regarding schools in the higher reaches, the CEO acknowledged that there is a dearth of the staff in few of the schools but, we have made arrangements to ensure no loop in the academics and seamless classes.
"Crises are there, but we are sending teachers for the temporary arrangements", he said. Regarding complaints against teachers, who are failing to do their job, the CEO said that, such complaints will be looked into and those in question would surely face the law—(KNO)
